Susana Mendoza is the democratic candidate for State Comptroller of Illinois. She is currently the City Clerk of Chicago. She is a former member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing the 1st District of Illinois. Mendoza is running in for Illinois Comptroller in the 2016 special election.
Ms. Mendoza has visited and prayed in Mosques and Churches within our community, and she has been visible in her support and accessibility to our community through the years when she. Although the Comptroller’s office has no direct oversight of State contracts, she shares the need to use the “bully pulpit” to advance the business interests of minorities in government and for our community.
Importantly, she has denounced talk of banning of immigrants from Illinois based upon religious or ethnicity. Her opponent has failed to denounce the statements of Donald Trump and Governor Rauner who have proposed such a ban.
