Michelle Mussman is the incumbent State Representative of the Illinois House District 56 which includes the suburbs in Northwest Cook County. Again, this race is too close to call and this makes the 1000 registered voters from our AMVOTE community registered voters list very important. Ms. Mussman is running against a Rauner republican named, Jillian Bernas. Ms. Mussman has served the rights of minorities throughout her career and she will focus more on diversity issues important to our community, especially in education and business opportunities. She is the mother of 3 teenage boys and her husband is a school teacher. She stated she would be against a decrease in funding for our community’s school districts.
