Amvote is excited to announce we will be hosting a reception to celebrate the Chicago Council approving an economic disparity study to qualify MENA/Arab American for its Minority Enterprise Program. The event will take place Tuesday May 10, 2022 at 6:00pm at beautiful Pazzo’s restaurant on 311 S. Wacker Dr. in downtown Chicago. The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District and Cook County Board are also studying our inclusion in their affirmative action programs.

MENA/Arab American leaders in engineering, architecture, law, and business, as well as local aldermen, commissioners, and members of the Cook County Board.
Local diversity corporate directors and managers are invited to join us.
WHO WILL BE RECOGNIZED?
AMVOTE will honor lawmakers, lawyers and disparity consultants who are advocating inclusion of MENA/Arab Americans in Minority Business Enterprise programs.
Alderman Gilbert Villegas – Chicago City Council:
After meeting with AMVOTE, Alderman Gilbert Villegas introduced a bill which was approved by the Chicago City Council to add “MENA/Arab Americans” as a qualified minority for the City’s Minority Business Enterprise Ordinance.
Commissioner Eira Supulveda – Metro Water Reclamation District:
After meeting with AMVOTE, Commissioner Eira Supulveda requested that the MWRC add MENA Americans to a study to qualify MENA Americans under its MBE Ordinance. (The MWRD’s annual budget is 1.3 Billion)
President Toni Preckwinkle – Cook County Board:
AMVOTE has met with Cook County Board Chair, Toni Preckwinkle, who has directed County Board Committees to research MENA Americans’ inclusion on a county level.
