As a part of Hillary Clinton’s inner circle, Huma Abedin has been Hillary’s personal assistant and trusted advisor since her tenure as Secretary of State. She is Vice Chair of her current campaign, which is similar to her role in the 2008 campaign. Huma was born in Michigan, and raised in Saudi Arabia. Her father was Indian, her mother Pakistani. She is a practicing Muslim. She came to the United States at 18 to attend the George Washington University, where she began interning for Hillary Clinton at the White House during Bill Clinton’s administration. Since 2015, Abedin has served as vice chairwoman for Hilary Clinton’s campaign for President, and continues in her role as personal assistant to Clinton.
