The Amerian Middle East Voters Alliance is pleased to announce that our 10-person endorsement committee has selected the Honorable Jesse G. Reyes for Illinois Supreme Court.
No jurist in Illinois has done more for diversity education and inclusion than Appellate Justice Reyes. In the past year he conducted a mock trial on the 1947 Mendez v. Westminstercase at Loyola Law school. He entertained visiting judges from the Middle East with a reception after an oral argument before his Appellate Panel.
But the crown jewel of his work is his creation of the annual “Unity Dinner” at the Chicago-Hilton. The dinner honors the diversity bar presidents, hands out “Diversity Scholarships” to minority law students, and issues “Advocates for Diversity” awards to those lawyers and judges who have distinguished themselves in the advancement of diversity in the legal profession.

Justice Reyes’ exhaustive support for minorities in the legal profession for the past decade is without equal. AMVOTE proudly endorses Justice Jesse G. Reyes for Illinois Supreme Court.
The American Middle East Voters Alliance is the first Arab-American Political Action Committee in Illinois. At election time in Cook County alone, we reached over 167,000 registered voters from our Middle East and Central Asian Communities, including a 61,000-email blast and postings on our social media platforms for JB Pritzker for Governor and Lori Lightfoot for Mayor.
